Lieberman Family Extends Dementia Caregiver Support to Sarasota

Three generations of the Lieberman family are bringing specialized dementia care resources to Sarasota and Manatee counties. By expanding the Fort Myers-based Dubin Center into their own backyard, the family aims to ensure local caregivers no longer face the isolating challenges of the disease without professional guidance and community support.

The expansion traces its roots back over 30 years to Zelda Dubin, who helped establish the Alzheimer's Resource Center of Southwest Florida. Her commitment to providing education and resilience for families is now being carried forward by her nephew, Larry Lieberman, his wife Nicci, and their son Ryan. Supported by the Larry and Nicci Lieberman Philanthropic Fund, the initiative fills a critical gap in regional healthcare services.

Local families can now access a suite of free resources, including evidence-based education, memory screenings, and consultations with licensed social workers. The program also facilitates social engagement opportunities designed to alleviate the emotional toll on caregivers. For the Liebermans, the project represents a multi-generational promise to maintain the compassionate standard established by Zelda decades ago. Residents and healthcare providers can coordinate with the center through their dedicated portal at DubinCenterSarasota.com or by calling 941-275-2941.
