Tim Maye Honored as a Top 50 Leader in Tissue Banking

Maye, a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist since 1999, brings nearly three decades of experience to the sector. His career includes a six-year tenure chairing the AATB Standards Committee, a role that saw him help draft the very regulations that govern modern tissue banking. In 2021, he founded C5 Biomedical, which achieved AATB accreditation in late 2025 under those same rigorous standards.

Beverly Bliss, former AATB Vice President of Accreditation and Standards, credited Maye with bringing cohesion to the regulatory process. During his time leading the Standards Committee, Maye facilitated complex debates among members to refine industry safety protocols. Maye noted that the recognition reflects a collective effort to improve the field, emphasizing that his work on the committee remains ongoing as he looks toward future advancements in the industry.
