In a video posted to Instagram, the California rapper, born Todd Anthony Shaw, clarified his stance, stating that his previous remarks were insensitive and made without full knowledge of the case. Shaw had initially told the TMZ podcast that he intended to attend a “Coming Home” party for Combs, a statement that drew immediate criticism given the severity of the charges against the Bad Boy founder.
Shaw emphasized his opposition to all forms of abuse, stating that he does not condone the behavior described in the criminal proceedings. While he admitted to attending dozens of Combs’ gatherings in the past, he insisted those events were distinct from the “Freak Offs” described by prosecutors, where women were allegedly coerced into drug-fueled sex acts through threats of violence. “I do not support abuse or abusers,” Shaw said, expressing regret for any pain his earlier comments may have caused.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence following his conviction on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. While legal representatives have characterized the sentence as a perversion of justice, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has adjusted his release date to January 21, 2028. Despite the controversy, Shaw concluded his apology by expressing a hope that Combs would experience personal growth during his incarceration.
