Global Youth Powerhouse Summit Links Start-ups with $10 Billion Capital

With $10 billion in venture capital on the table, the third Global Youth Powerhouse Summit drew 600 delegates from 60 countries to Hong Kong. The event aimed to bridge the gap between emerging local talent and the financial muscle required to scale, focusing on AI, life technology, and global market integration.

The summit, held at Conrad Hong Kong, aligned its agenda with the HKSAR’s Five-Year Plan, emphasizing the city's role as a launchpad for mainland enterprises. Chief Executive John Lee and Deputy Secretary for Justice Dr. Cheung Kwok-kwan both urged attendees to leverage Hong Kong's position as a 'super-connector' in the evolving economic landscape.

Founding Convenor Dr. Kevin Lau underscored that despite the rapid integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare and finance, human judgment remains the essential driver of these advancements. The event facilitated direct connections through a high-stakes pitching session, where 15 start-ups presented their business models to 11 venture funds. Beyond the deal-making, discussions spanned the complexities of asset tokenization and the geopolitical shifts impacting Asia’s status as an education hub. The gathering drew participation from industry heavyweights, including representatives from Huawei and the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, cementing the summit as a focal point for the region’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
