Ohio Inventor Proposes Bird Deflector System to Shield Aircraft Engines

“I wanted to create a new bird deflector for aircraft engines to prevent birds from entering and causing damage,” says the Ohio-based developer of the MANSARAY invention. This proposed safety mechanism aims to minimize avian-related engine failures by repelling wildlife from the critical flight path of commercial and private aircraft.

The MANSARAY system functions by creating a protective barrier designed to keep birds away from engine intakes. By integrating this hardware into existing airframes, the inventor intends to reduce the frequency of bird strikes, which remain a significant cause of costly engine maintenance and potential flight disruptions. The design prioritizes ease of integration, targeting both major airline fleets and aircraft manufacturers looking for cost-effective safety upgrades.

Currently, the concept is being handled by the Cincinnati office of InventHelp. The organization is actively seeking licensing agreements or potential buyers for the technology. Interested parties may contact InventHelp at their Pittsburgh headquarters or reference department 25-CNH-7031 for further technical specifications regarding the implementation of the deflector.
