John Owen shared Dickinson’s poem “Hope Is the Thing With Feathers” on his Instagram Stories, highlighting lines about resilience during a storm. His tribute joined a series of public remembrances from the Lowe family, who described Fiona as the “light of our lives.” Her older sister, 17-year-old Mabel, wrote a poignant message promising to keep Fiona’s memory alive forever, while their grandfather, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, shared a photograph of the teen with a farewell note.
Fiona’s parents, Chad and Kim, confirmed the loss in a statement, emphasizing that their daughter was smart, creative, and deeply loved. Los Angeles Medical Examiner records indicate the teenager died by suicide. In the aftermath of her passing, the school Fiona attended reached out to families to provide counseling resources, while friends remembered her as a popular, well-liked student. Chad Lowe, who frequently celebrated his life as a “girl dad” on social media, had marked Fiona’s 13th birthday last November by encouraging her to “keep dancing through life.” The family continues to request privacy and has directed those struggling with mental health to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
