The deal, initially announced in August, integrates Trustpair’s payment assurance technology into Basware’s existing framework. While becoming part of the global leader in invoice management, Trustpair will maintain its status as an independent, system-agnostic platform. This allows its existing customer base to continue utilizing the service across various ERP and treasury environments, regardless of their integration with Basware.
Basware CEO Jason Kurtz emphasized that the acquisition addresses a critical control challenge: preventing funds from reaching incorrect accounts despite the existence of authentic invoices. For finance teams, the shift is necessary as fraudsters increasingly target supplier identities and bank details rather than the documents themselves. The combined entity will leverage Basware’s data foundation—spanning 2.5 billion invoices and 20 million suppliers—alongside Trustpair’s AI-driven risk intelligence to identify threats before payments are released.
Trustpair co-founder and CEO Baptiste Collot noted that the partnership allows his firm to scale its nine-year legacy of fraud prevention using Basware’s resources. The collaboration aims to provide finance leaders with a unified view of the entire payment cycle, from the initial supplier data entry to the final transaction, effectively creating a more resilient barrier against modern financial crime.
