Commonwealth Care Alliance and CareSource Staff Raise $50,000 for Advocates

Employees at Commonwealth Care Alliance and CareSource have raised $50,000 to support Advocates, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit. The funds, collected during the 2026 Workplace Giving Campaign, will bolster services for more than 50,000 people navigating mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, and other complex life needs across the state.

The campaign, administered by the CareSource Foundation, specifically targets the national mental health crisis. By directing these resources to Advocates, the organizations aim to strengthen the Friendship Project, an initiative that pairs community volunteers with individuals to combat social isolation. John Koehn, President of Commonwealth Care Alliance, noted that the effort reflects a broader commitment to investing in Massachusetts through both financial support and the direct involvement of their workforce.

Regina Marshall, CEO of Advocates, emphasized that the donation reinforces a shared goal of ensuring equitable access to care. The nonprofit focuses on a person-centered approach, assisting those with autism, brain injuries, and various developmental disabilities. Beyond this contribution, the 2026 CareSource campaign is also providing aid to Integrated Services for Behavioral Health in Ohio and The Children's Cabinet in Nevada. Since its inception in 2006, the CareSource Foundation has distributed over $39 million to organizations addressing poverty and essential health services.
