The rapid shift is anchored by significant gains in major markets, with France hitting a 38.3 percent share and Germany reaching 32.5 percent. This momentum extends into public transit, where six in ten new city buses registered across the EU in 2025 were zero-emission models. As Chris Heron of E-Mobility Europe noted, the current market climate demands both product quality and delivery certainty.
VinFast is responding to these shifting dynamics through a three-pronged strategy. For passenger vehicles, the company is prioritizing the VF 6, a compact SUV designed for urban accessibility and efficiency. Simultaneously, the firm is addressing the public sector with its EB 8 and EB 12 electric buses; the latter has already secured full European certification, signaling compliance with the region's rigorous infrastructure standards.
Beyond hardware, the company is bypassing direct-to-consumer models in favor of a localized retail footprint. By forming partnerships with established dealerships and service providers, VinFast aims to integrate its technology into existing networks. This approach addresses the critical European requirement for accessible maintenance and warranty support, ensuring that service remains localized for both private drivers and fleet operators. Rather than chasing short-term volume, the company is positioning itself as a reliable, long-term participant in Europe’s transition to zero-emission mobility.
