The infrastructure relies on a public Vehicle-to-Grid Root Certificate Authority to manage secure connections between diverse charging point operators and vehicle manufacturers. This shift removes the technical friction of managing disparate authentication protocols, effectively standardizing how cars interact with the power grid across different hardware brands. Beyond Hyundai and Tesla, the system currently supports vehicles from Kia, KG Mobility, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
CEO Duksoo Kim describes this implementation as a critical step toward the broader adoption of Physical AI, where automated systems must operate with minimal human oversight. By centralizing the trust foundation, AUTOCRYPT intends to facilitate not just charging, but also future automated payment and settlement services. The company is now working to expand this integration to additional automotive partners globally, aiming to solidify a standardized security layer for connected vehicle ecosystems.
