The Arizona site marks a pivotal step in KSAT’s strategy to support NASA’s Lunar Exploration Ground Sites specifications. Selected for its technical and environmental suitability, the Yuma location offers the necessary infrastructure to scale operations as the lunar economy demands more resilient connectivity. The project remains on track, with site preparation and foundation work currently underway.
KSAT’s broader initiative, launched in March 2022, utilizes three 20-meter-diameter antennas to ensure reliable X- and Ka-band communication. While the Arizona facility matures, the company is preparing to begin testing at its Western Australian site, and assembly of the Spanish antenna is progressing. According to Dan Adams, General Manager of KSAT, Inc., these interconnected global sites are intended to provide the robust data transmission required for both government and commercial spaceflight as lunar activity accelerates.
