The Forester led the company’s monthly results with a 45.9 percent spike compared to September 2025, contributing to a 17.6 percent year-to-date gain. While the Forester dominated, the Crosstrek and Outback maintained steady momentum, recording 15,296 and 12,651 units sold respectively. The enthusiast-focused WRX also saw a significant breakout, with monthly sales jumping 166.1 percent year-over-year, bolstering its standing as a popular manual transmission choice.
Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer at Subaru of America, attributed the success to the company's retail network and their focus on customer-centric service. Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales, noted that the brand intends to capitalize on this momentum by introducing limited-production 2027 anniversary editions of the WRX and BRZ. Despite the overall positive monthly figures, some models faced steeper declines, with the Legacy and Impreza reporting significant year-over-year drops as the company continues to refine its diverse product mix.
