The award is determined by votes from NMEA dealers, certified installers, and industry professionals. Beyond the top manufacturer honor, Garmin secured six Product of Excellence awards, reflecting a broad portfolio that spans navigation, sonar, and safety technology. Dave Dunn, Garmin’s senior director of marine and RV sales, attributed the streak to the consistent trust placed in the brand by those who install and support the hardware on the water.
Garmin’s winning streak includes notable victories for the GPSMAP 9227 chartplotter, which marks 12 consecutive years in the MFD category, and the Reactor 40 Hydraulic Autopilot, extending a 14-year run. Other recognized technologies include the LiveScope Plus System for sonar, the Cortex M1 Hub for AIS, the inReach Mini 3 for satellite communication, and the Garmin OnBoard system for marine safety. NMEA President Mark Reedenauer noted that these awards serve as a benchmark for the industry, emphasizing that the selected products are those professionals rely on daily for safety and innovation at sea.
