The integration allows permissioned data from Canoe to flow directly into Bloomberg PORT Enterprise, providing a comprehensive view of risk, cash management, and underlying holdings. By leveraging Canoe’s ability to translate unstructured private fund documentation into structured formats, Bloomberg intends to streamline post-investment workflows that have historically been plagued by manual data entry and fragmented reporting.
Bloomberg CEO Vlad Kliatchko stated that the acquisition is a critical component of the firm's strategy to capture a larger share of the private markets space. Jason Eiswerth, who led Canoe Intelligence as CEO and now joins the Bloomberg leadership, noted that the scale offered by Bloomberg will allow for more rapid development of their existing data management tools. The combined entity plans to utilize ASKB, Bloomberg’s agentic AI interface, to provide investors with faster, automated insights across both asset classes, supported by standardized identifiers such as the Financial Instrument Global Identifier (FIGI).
