The partnership seeks to modernize independent film finance by creating a structured, transparent way for investors to participate in entertainment portfolios. Polymath will provide the underlying technology for digital securities issuance, investor onboarding, and lifecycle management. According to Natalie Hirsch, interim CEO of Polymath, the collaboration highlights the potential for tokenization to unlock asset classes that have historically remained inaccessible to private capital.
CineCity Studios, which operates a 140,000-square-foot production campus in Chicago, aims to pair this financial model with its advanced virtual production capabilities, including AI integration and LED stages. Managing Partner Stanley Wozniak noted that the platform could streamline how productions are financed, especially when combined with regional tax incentives. Illinois currently offers a 35% credit on eligible in-state spending, and potential federal legislation could further boost the appeal of Chicago-based projects. While the investment vehicle remains in the development phase, the project marks a shift for Polymath as it expands its tokenization infrastructure beyond traditional real estate and financial assets.
