The development of VNEW followed a shift in perspective for ARMS Medical, moving from material-first engineering to a patient-centric model. By spending thousands of hours observing urogynecologists and colorectal surgeons, the company focused on the specific requirements of female anatomy. This led to a product that arrives at the operating room hydrated and precut in four anatomical shapes, eliminating the need for surgical teams to manually prepare or measure tissue during procedures.
At the core of the technology is dCELL, a proprietary decellularization process that removes donor DNA while retaining the structural integrity of the collagen and vascular channels. To date, more than 200 surgeons have utilized VNEW in over 10,000 cases. Robert Greer, CEO of ARMS Medical, noted that the recognition serves as a milestone rather than a conclusion, as the company continues to refine its offerings based on ongoing feedback from clinicians and patients.
