The installation at the Decatur campus represents the first full-scale commercial implementation of Claros' proprietary UV-based technology. By integrating this system directly into manufacturing operations, Daikin aims to destroy both long and short-chain fluorine chemistries, including TFA, while maintaining continuous performance verification through the ClarosLabs analytical platform. This setup allows for real-time monitoring and regulatory compliance, addressing the growing pressure on manufacturers to stop transferring contaminants between waste streams.
Yuichi Hashikawa, CEO of Daikin America, noted that the partnership serves as a roadmap for the broader industry, proving that high-performance material production can align with environmental stewardship. For Claros, the deal functions as a significant commercial validation, moving the technology from scientific demonstration to a standard industrial component. The companies have already signaled that this agreement extends beyond a single site, with plans to evaluate the technology for potential use across Daikin’s global operations.
