The lawsuit, Hunter v. AST SpaceMobile, Inc., alleges that company executives violated the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by disseminating false or misleading information regarding the firm's capital requirements and market position. According to the complaint, AST SpaceMobile understated the frequency and scale of necessary share dilution and debt, while overstating its liquidity to meet strategic objectives.
Plaintiffs contend that the company failed to disclose sluggish user adoption in Japan and the United States, even as it faced intensifying pressure from the EchoStar-SpaceX agreement. This deal, announced in September 2025, allowed EchoStar to integrate SpaceX’s Starlink direct-to-cellular service, a move the suit claims further eroded AST SpaceMobile’s competitive standing. Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, the firm representing the class, is currently soliciting investors who suffered substantial losses to participate in the litigation process.
