Megan Thee Stallion Recalls Terrifying Mid-Performance Health Crisis

Her hands and face had frozen, and she struggled to signal for help: during a Broadway performance of "Moulin Rouge!" earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion was convinced she was suffering a stroke. The medical emergency forced a sudden exit from the production and became a stark turning point for her.

The 31-year-old rapper, who had been pushing through a rigorous schedule despite feeling mentally depleted, described the episode as a wake-up call. According to an interview with Marie Claire, she felt a total lack of oxygen reaching her brain, leading her to fear the worst. Her co-star, Kelsie Watts, noted that the signs were visible long before the collapse, recalling that the performer appeared pale, shaky, and drenched in sweat during the show.

While representatives initially described the incident as a sudden health issue, the aftermath prompted a reevaluation of her career demands. Megan eventually withdrew from the musical early, citing a need to prioritize her physical recovery and mental health. This period of transition coincided with her highly publicized split from NBA player Klay Thompson. Reflecting on both events, she noted that she had spent too long compromising her needs to meet external expectations, and she is now focused on reclaiming her identity outside of both high-pressure performances and personal relationships.
