Austin Trail of Lights Returns to Zilker Park for 62nd Year

The event traces its roots to a modest 1965 gathering, eventually evolving into a massive seasonal landmark featuring 96 illuminated trees. While general admission remains free on specific dates—December 10–11 and 13–17—tickets for other evenings are priced at $8, with children under 12 entering at no cost throughout the entire run.

Heidi Post, Senior Director of Public Affairs at H-E-B, noted that the partnership with the Trail of Lights Foundation remains focused on preserving the event for Central Texans. Beyond the standard displays, visitors can opt for premium experiences, including ZIP passes starting at $20 and Platinum passes from $95, which provide amenities like valet parking and lounge access. Proceeds from these tiers sustain the nonprofit's operational costs and the STARS at the Trail program, which hosts tailored experiences for local charitable organizations. The season kicks off early with a Preview Party on December 4 and the Raising Cane’s Fun Run on December 5.
