MaiJin Metal Cuts CNC Production Time by Half for Major Component Order

The project initially relied on pure CNC lathe turning, a method that demanded three minutes per unit. With a 600,000-piece volume, this approach would have required over 30,000 machine hours—a duration that failed to meet the client's urgent deadline. To resolve the constraint, the engineering team pivoted to a hybrid manufacturing model. Workpieces are now formed to near-net shape through rapid cold heading, leaving only the finishing touches for the CNC lathes. This adjustment significantly reduced the required stock removal, allowing the facility to maintain micron-level tolerances while drastically increasing output speed.

General Manager Daniel Xian noted that the company’s focus remains on engineering solutions rather than simple fabrication. The client validated this shift by awarding MaiJin Metal a Certificate of Excellence for quality and value. Operating from a 3,000-square-meter facility in Shenzhen, the firm utilizes 80 machines to maintain tight tolerances, often reaching 0.005 mm for roundness and cylindricity. This capability has allowed the manufacturer to expand its footprint to over 30 countries, supporting industries that require complex materials like stainless steel and titanium alloys.
