These new commitments follow a $12 million order announced just yesterday, cementing a rapid expansion of Nel's defense-sector footprint. The company intends to fulfill these obligations through 2027 and 2028, with all production slated for their facility in Wallingford, Connecticut.
Todd Cartwright, Nel’s Chief Commercial Officer, noted that the specialized requirements for submarine environments rely heavily on the company's established track record. By securing these projects, Nel solidifies its role as a key supplier for high-reliability life-support technology, moving beyond its primary focus on industrial-scale renewable hydrogen production.
