Andrew Schulz Joins Ensemble Cast of Universal’s Miami Vice ’85

The project, written by Dan Gilroy, draws inspiration from the series' original pilot, focusing on the stylized glamour and systemic corruption of mid-1980s Miami. Jordan and Butler are set to portray the iconic undercover detectives Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs and James “Sonny” Crockett, respectively, with John Leguizamo signed on to play their primary antagonist. The production, which will be filmed for IMAX, also features Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, and Danny Ramirez.

Beyond the Miami project, Schulz’s acting career continues to accelerate across several high-profile ventures. He is currently attached to Apple Original Films’ Running, directed by Gavin O’Connor, and is slated to play Dan Hibiki in a live-action adaptation of the Street Fighter video game franchise. These roles build on a decade of screen work, including performances in Netflix’s You People, the 2023 White Men Can’t Jump remake, and the recent comedy series Tires.
