The virtual challenge, which begins October 1, encourages individuals to log their physical activity—whether walking, cycling, or stretching—through an online tracker. Participants can join independently or represent an organization, with a global leaderboard tracking progress throughout the month. The program serves as a companion to HealthCode’s Marathon in a Month event, offering a flexible framework for people of all fitness levels to set personal wellness goals.
Tony Cucolo, CEO of PCSI and a retired U.S. Army Major General, emphasized that the initiative mirrors the resilience required in the workplace. For PCSI, an Austin-based nonprofit focused on job placement for people with disabilities, the challenge reinforces the connection between physical activity and mental fortitude. Steve Amos, founder of HealthCode, noted that the event aims to foster community connections while recognizing the workforce contributions of those who navigate both visible and invisible barriers. Since 2014, HealthCode’s virtual challenges have engaged over 200,000 participants globally, logging millions of miles in an effort to promote sustainable, healthy habits.
