Lincoln Educational Faces Lawsuit Over Student Enrollment Claims

A 24.9% single-day collapse in Lincoln Educational Services stock has triggered a securities class action lawsuit. Investors allege the company misled shareholders regarding its growth trajectory after reported student starts plummeted from a 19.5% gain in the first quarter to a mere 1% increase just three months later.

The legal action, filed by Hagens Berman, targets the period between May 11 and August 9, 2026. During the earlier window, Lincoln Educational management boasted of strong, sustained demand and raised annual growth guidance, prompting a 10.6% surge in share price. However, the August 10 earnings call revealed a sharp disconnect between those optimistic projections and the reality of the company's enrollment figures.

The resulting market correction erased more than $300 million in market capitalization, leaving many shareholders with significant losses. Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the investigation, stated the firm is examining whether the company intentionally misled the market regarding its core performance metrics. Investors seeking to participate in the class action must meet a lead plaintiff deadline of November 10, 2026.
