Gate City Bank sees 63X return on digital platform overhaul

Fargo-based Gate City Bank has overhauled its digital infrastructure, reporting a 61% surge in banking logins and $650,000 in prevented fraud losses. By integrating Alkami’s unified sales and service platform, the mutual bank has transitioned from fragmented legacy systems to a data-driven model that automates customer growth and streamlines account management.

The transformation began after the bank vetted over 35 providers, ultimately selecting Alkami to modernize its digital experience. The bank later expanded this partnership to include data marketing and automated onboarding. Jessica Ebeling, executive vice president at Gate City Bank, noted that the platform allows her team to move past operational limitations toward creating new customer possibilities.

Since the implementation, the institution has seen measurable gains across its commercial and retail sectors. Targeted marketing campaigns generated over $541 million in cross-sell opportunities, while the integration of MANTL retail account opening software reduced the time required to onboard new customers to under five minutes. Additionally, the bank utilized BioCatch technology to achieve a 97% capture rate for account takeover attempts. Treasury ACH origination customers grew by 47.7% without the need for additional staffing, signaling a significant increase in operational efficiency for the $4 billion bank.
