ITpipes Secures Growth Investment to Scale Wastewater AI Tools

As local utilities face mounting regulatory pressure and a $69 billion annual funding deficit, the demand for defensible condition data has reached a breaking point. ITpipes currently supports more than 300 municipalities and contractors by integrating inspection workflows with Esri ArcGIS and NASSCO standards. The new capital will specifically scale the company’s AiDetect platform, which currently claims a 97% defect-detection accuracy rate while reducing manual coding time by half.

Ned Bebawy, CEO of ITpipes, noted that the company’s AI strategy remains rooted in fifteen years of field data rather than experimental tech. By leveraging Luminate’s $2 billion asset base, the firm intends to transition from a specialized inspection tool into a comprehensive system of record for underground asset management. Andrew Baldwin, a partner at Luminate, emphasized that the investment focuses on practical utility—prioritizing software that functions reliably within the rigorous, day-to-day realities of field engineering crews.
