Sblendorio brings three decades of experience in capital markets and corporate finance to the clinical-stage company. His appointment comes as ARTHEx prepares to expand the reach of its proprietary BOOST-ON™ platform, which is currently being tested in the ArthemiR™ trial for myotonic dystrophy type 1. CEO Frédéric Legros cited Sblendorio’s track record in navigating the complexities of the biotechnology sector as a primary factor in his selection to guide the company's next phase of growth.
Beyond his new role at ARTHEx, Sblendorio maintains board seats at Mineralys Therapeutics and Amicus Therapeutics. His background includes executive leadership at Eyetech Pharmaceuticals and a tenure as managing director at MPM Capital Advisors. For ARTHEx, the move serves to bolster its leadership as it shifts focus toward the clinical development of its pipeline, which aims to address the multisystem nature of rare neuromuscular disorders by targeting gene expression in muscle, heart, and brain tissue.
