Colson Group Acquires Algood Caster Innovations

Founded in 1969, Algood brings a highly integrated manufacturing model to the Colson portfolio. The company manages every stage of development, including injection molding and CNC machining, allowing for rapid transitions from initial design concepts to finished industrial-grade products. This engineering-led approach provides Colson with additional capacity to serve clients requiring specialized solutions beyond standard off-the-shelf offerings.

Rich Kobor, CEO of Colson Group, emphasized that the acquisition aligns with the company’s push to strengthen resilient, regional manufacturing. By adding Algood’s Canadian facility, Colson gains localized production resources that complement its existing footprint. For Algood, the transition marks a new chapter for the family-founded business, with President Craig Guttmann noting that the merger provides broader resources for employees and partners while maintaining the craftsmanship that defined the brand for over 50 years. Algood will continue to serve its current channel partners under the new parent structure.
