The push into Utah coincides with the launch of Kilwins Select, a scaled-down franchise model featuring a 600-square-foot footprint. By reducing initial build-out requirements, the brand aims to secure high-traffic retail spaces that were previously inaccessible to its traditional full-line stores. CEO Brian Britton noted that the state’s retail environment aligns with the company’s focus on premium, experiential sweet treat destinations.
Chief development officer Kelli Schroeder stated that the new model offers franchisees greater real estate flexibility while preserving the brand’s signature open-kitchen aesthetic, where products like fudge and caramel are crafted on-site. The company currently holds top-tier rankings in industry outlets, including being named the 2026 Best Dessert & Treat Chain by USA TODAY. Interested operators can now apply for development territories through the company’s franchise portal.
