Arcadis and Autodesk Expand AI Partnership for Engineering Workflows

The partnership focuses on embedding Arcadis’ internal knowledge, sustainability standards, and client-specific data directly into Autodesk’s digital workflows. A primary application is the joint "See Through Walls" project, which leverages sensor data and predictive modeling to assess the condition of building interiors, facilitating material reuse and decarbonization. By connecting Arcadis’ Model Context Protocol capabilities with Autodesk Assistant, the company ensures its technical guidance remains applicable within automated environments while maintaining full ownership of its intellectual property.

Operational results are already emerging in North America and Europe, where new automation tools have compressed quality review timelines from five days to approximately half a day. Arcadis CEO Heather Polinsky emphasized that the strategy is designed to augment, not replace, human judgment, allowing staff to focus on solving complex challenges rather than manual processing. Andrew Anagnost, CEO of Autodesk, noted that the collaboration succeeds by grounding AI in trusted, real-world project context rather than relying on generic software applications. This shift toward data-led delivery is intended to increase productivity and reduce risk across the firm’s international infrastructure and building projects.
