In a candid interview with Us Weekly, Brooke Hogan addressed her mother Linda’s recent assertions of being hurt by their distance. Brooke dismissed the "wounded fawn" narrative, stating she possesses evidence of her mother’s behavior that would settle the matter if made public. She expressed that she would prefer an honest acknowledgment of their tumultuous history rather than feigned ignorance.
Reflecting on the family unit, Brooke described an environment characterized by scrutiny, performance pressure, and constant walking on eggshells. She clarified that her childhood was not entirely negative, but emphasized that the reality of her upbringing was far more complex than public perception suggests. This dysfunction was compounded by her father Hulk Hogan’s 2008 affair with her friend, Christiane Plante, which she identifies as a permanent turning point in their bond. Although she forgave the wrestling icon, she noted that their connection never fully recovered.
The relationship with her father remained strained until his death, with the two not speaking for his final two years. Brooke recalled a painful conversation where her father essentially signaled a permanent separation, leaving her feeling powerless against the influence of those surrounding him. Despite the weight of public scandals and personal betrayal, she maintains that she does not wish to erase the positive memories, acknowledging that two conflicting truths—profound love and deep resentment—can exist simultaneously.
