The partnership mirrors Aldi’s existing collaborations with DoorDash in the United States and Australia, where riders manage the picking and packing process within stores. UK shoppers will gain access to a broad selection of items, including fresh produce, meat, dairy, and household essentials, with the option to schedule deliveries or request them on-demand.
Giles Hurley, CEO at Aldi UK, stated that the move allows the company to reach more consumers without altering its store operations. While the current rollout is limited to eight specific sites—including branches in Ashford, Norwich, and Tamworth—the retailer intends to expand the service nationwide by early 2027. Deliveroo views the collaboration as a way to offer riders flexible earning opportunities outside of traditional peak dining hours.
