The special meeting results confirm that roughly 81% of Iridium’s outstanding common stock supported the merger. Under the agreed terms, Iridium investors are set to receive $27.00 in cash per share, supplemented by Rocket Lab common stock based on a pre-determined exchange ratio. The companies anticipate finalizing the acquisition by mid-2027, pending remaining regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Iridium CEO Matt Desch framed the vote as a pivotal step toward integrating the companies' complementary technical portfolios. Sir Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab, described the impending merger as the creation of a "next generation space powerhouse." By uniting Iridium’s global satellite constellation and spectrum assets with Rocket Lab’s established launch and spacecraft systems, the leadership teams aim to accelerate the development of new space-based applications for commercial and government clients.
