The collapse in market value followed the release of FDA briefing documents that labeled the company’s analytical methods as post-hoc and exploratory. Before the disclosure, Cantor Fitzgerald and other analysts had maintained a constructive outlook, bolstered by company reports claiming primary endpoint significance. However, the FDA's subsequent assessment argued that the benefit-risk profile appeared unfavorable due to the undisclosed modifications in the statistical analysis plan.
Following the FDA's findings, an advisory committee voted 9-3 against the efficacy of deramiocel for DMD-associated cardiomyopathy. The stock, which reached a period high of $35.34 on April 21, 2026, cratered to $4.19 by July 30. The pending litigation, filed in the Southern District of California, alleges that the company's prior public statements regarding its regulatory standing and trial data integrity were materially misleading. Lead attorney Joseph E. Levi noted that the market correction reflects a disconnect between analyst models based on company disclosures and the reality of the FDA's regulatory review.
