The initial phase of the rollout covers approximately 7,000 Dollar General and pOpshelf locations. Following this testing period, the companies intend to scale the service rapidly, reaching an estimated 20,000 stores across 48 states by this autumn. The integration allows customers to order food and everyday goods for immediate delivery, bypassing the need for in-store visits.
Ryan Hamburger, Chief Commercial Officer at Instacart, described the retailer’s massive physical footprint as a key addition to their platform. For Dollar General, the partnership represents a new channel to drive convenience. Tony Rogers, the company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized that the collaboration aligns with their mission to provide accessible value to customers who rely on their stores for daily necessities.
