Flying Tiger Copenhagen CFO departs following Modella Capital buyout

Christian Kofoed Hertz Jakobsen is stepping down as Group CFO of Flying Tiger Copenhagen, marking the end of a seven-year tenure that saw the Danish retailer navigate four distinct ownership changes, most recently the acquisition by British investment firm Modella Capital.

Jakobsen confirmed his departure via LinkedIn, noting that he and the majority shareholder reached a mutual agreement that the transition period under Modella Capital serves as the appropriate time for his exit. During his time with the firm, Jakobsen helped steer the company through significant structural shifts, including a period where the business was controlled by its banks and management following a buyout in June last year.

Operating approximately 1,000 stores globally, including 80 in the UK, Flying Tiger Copenhagen remains in a state of evolution under its new ownership. Jakobsen, who stated his immediate priority is facilitating a professional handover, has not yet disclosed his next career move. He leaves the retailer having overseen a period of development that transformed the company's operational landscape.
