The expanded service allows users to schedule food orders up to three weeks before their check-in date. Airbnb has waived delivery fees for orders totaling $10 or more, and the platform streamlines the process by automatically populating the guest's listing address, eliminating the need for a separate Instacart account. In specific markets, including Phoenix and Orlando, hosts are also authorized to receive and stock these grocery deliveries in refrigerators or pantries prior to a guest’s arrival.
Juan David Borrero, Airbnb’s Global Head of Partnerships and Business Development, noted that groceries were among the most requested additions to the platform. By removing the friction of finding local markets upon arrival, the company aims to position the delivery service as a natural component of the stay rather than a logistical hurdle.
