Gateway’s model allows students to bypass traditional semester schedules, offering coursework at $79 per class plus a $95 monthly membership fee. According to Gateway President David Christy, this structure is designed to convert potential candidates who might otherwise be deterred by the high cost and rigid timelines of conventional academic paths. While the pace is flexible, the academic rigor remains intact; all courses are evaluated by the American Council on Education, ensuring they meet credit standards for partner institutions. By lowering the barrier to entry for core requirements, the initiative aims to stabilize a workforce that is currently struggling to keep pace with national healthcare needs.
