Johnson transitions to Glenn Agre from McKool Smith, where he led the firm’s New York office for four years. His appointment follows a June expansion that saw Zachary W. Mazin, Ayana M. Rivers, and Monika O. Bileris join the firm to strengthen its bench in mortgage-backed securitization disputes. The collective team now operates alongside the firm’s existing bankruptcy, restructuring, and commercial litigation departments.
With over thirty years of experience, Johnson has secured billions in recoveries, including notable work for the Federal Housing Finance Agency regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He views the current private credit market as a fertile ground for litigation, citing concerns over disclosure quality and asset alignment. Managing partner Andrew Glenn emphasized that the firm is positioning itself to handle the fallout from the current credit cycle, which follows a period of rapid, unchecked market growth. The firm’s expanded practice focuses on complex instruments, including collateralized loan obligations and private loan securitizations, targeting issues such as collateral manipulation and asset misrepresentation.
