OpenCV Launches Paid Enterprise Support for Computer Vision Developers

While the core library remains free and open source, the new OpenCV Enterprise program introduces three distinct support tiers tailored to different production lifecycles. These range from the US$150,000-per-year LTS tier, which focuses on security backports and defect remediation, to the US$400,000-per-year Partnership level, which provides dedicated engineering capacity for custom forks and hardware-specific optimizations.

CEO Dr. Satya Mallick noted that the initiative aims to bridge the divide between rapid open-source innovation and the long-term stability required by commercial products. By offering certified, signed builds and direct access to the library's engineers, the program allows teams to outsource regression testing and maintenance tasks that previously fell entirely on internal developers. The service builds on existing partnerships with companies like Qualcomm and Arm, formalizing the engineering support model for broader industrial use.
