Minivela will serve as the primary programming and content partner for the new service, overseeing original production, talent acquisition, and audience engagement. Ruiz and Ponce, both veterans of Hispanic media, will leverage their industry connections to build a library that aligns with the platform’s emphasis on shared values and faith-based storytelling. According to Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott, the goal is to create authentic content that resonates across generations of Latino viewers.
While Great American Media retains control over business operations and final programming approvals, Minivela will shape the creative identity of the service. Carlos Ponce is expected to contribute both behind the scenes as a creative lead and potentially as on-screen talent. The platform is scheduled to debut in early October with a slate of Spanish-language content, with plans to introduce bilingual and English-language offerings as the ecosystem expands. This rollout represents a significant scaling of an existing relationship between the two companies, moving beyond their initial collaboration on mobile-first microdramas to a full-scale streaming partnership.
