Cantine Riunite Shifts to Single-Serve for Alcohol-Free Expansion

As the U.S. non-alcoholic market surges past $1 billion in retail sales, Italian powerhouse Cantine Riunite is shrinking its footprint to capture the on-the-go consumer. The company is debuting 187ml bottles of its Riunite Zero and Maschio Zero expressions this October, targeting a lifestyle shift toward moderation and portability.

The strategic pivot comes after a period of rapid growth for the zero-proof category, which saw online sales jump 208% year over year according to 2026 industry data. By introducing smaller, single-serve formats, the importer Frederick Wildman & Sons aims to move beyond traditional wine aisles and into convenience and grab-and-go retail spaces. This expansion leverages the momentum of a portfolio that saw combined sales of 350,000 bottles between 2024 and 2025.

"Consumers want choices that fit into their lives, and these bottles offer a way to enjoy our wines on their own terms," said Mina Belhaj Rouas, Vice President of Marketing and Trade Development at Frederick Wildman & Sons. The new 187ml bottles are priced at $2.99 for the Riunite Zero Red Semi-Sparkling and $3.99 for the Maschio Zero White Sparkling. The move is designed to reach drinkers at picnics, travel events, and casual gatherings where a standard 750ml bottle is often impractical.
