Tesco overhauls fuel network with Vontier payment technology

Tesco is upgrading its nationwide network of more than 700 petrol stations with a new integrated payment and fuelling platform. The grocery giant is deploying hardware and software from Vontier Corporation, specifically utilizing components from Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Invenco to streamline forecourt operations.

The deployment centers on the DOMS PSS 5000 Forecourt Controller, which serves as the digital backbone for the project. By integrating this controller with Invenco’s outdoor payment terminals, Tesco aims to facilitate faster transactions for customers at both the pump and the kiosk. The system provides specialized software that links directly to the retailer’s existing point-of-sale infrastructure, allowing for real-time monitoring and data collection across the entire forecourt footprint.

Andy Bennett, Group President of Convenience Retail at Vontier, described the initiative as a combination of Tesco’s retail expertise with dedicated fuel and payment hardware. The move is designed to create a scalable, efficient environment that addresses the specific needs of high-traffic retail sites.
