Farley addressed the accusations during a recent public appearance in New York City, where social media users questioned if she was using injectable weight-loss medications. Dismissing the claims as baseless, the 41-year-old explained that she had been struggling with appendicitis and a kidney infection for months. The situation became critical when doctors restricted her food intake for six days while managing a kidney abscess she described as the size of a golf ball.
Addressing the criticism directly, Farley expressed frustration over the scrutiny of her body. She noted that she had not been at such a low weight since middle school and emphasized that the weight loss was entirely involuntary. She challenged her critics, stating that she expects similar commentary once she regains the weight, highlighting the impossible standards often placed on women’s physical appearances. Her recent health ordeal follows a busy year that included a surprise wedding to Zack Carpinello in June and a subsequent celebration in Lake Como.
This health battle highlights a difficult period for the "Jersey Shore" cast, as Farley’s friend and co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently disclosed her own recovery from stage 1 cervical cancer. Polizzi, who underwent a hysterectomy in July, has also been open about the importance of medical vigilance. For Farley, the experience served as a final warning from her body after months of feeling unwell, exhaustion, and physical decline.
