The rating agency points to a shift in Adecoagro’s business profile, noting that the Profertil deal has nearly doubled the company’s consolidated EBITDA and cash flow. This expansion into the fertilizer market provides a strategic buffer against volatile commodity cycles, diversifying the firm's earnings base beyond its traditional agricultural output.
Fitch anticipates further improvements in the company’s balance sheet, citing a clear trajectory toward lower net leverage. Supported by robust cash generation and consistent access to capital markets, Adecoagro maintains a flexible funding structure. The company currently manages 210.4 thousand hectares across Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, producing 3.1 million tons of agricultural goods and over 1 million MWh of renewable electricity annually.
