Breach Secure Now Gains Texas DIR Certification for AI Training

Texas government agencies and school districts now have a state-approved path for AI literacy. Breach Secure Now has received certification from the Texas Department of Information Resources for its 2026-27 training program, meeting mandatory statewide requirements for artificial intelligence awareness and cybersecurity education for public-sector employees.

The certification aligns with Texas Government Code Sections 2054.5191 and 2054.5193, which require officials and staff to complete verified training programs. As public-sector organizations integrate generative AI into their daily workflows, the state has prioritized the balance between productivity gains and the risks associated with data security and algorithmic accuracy.

Breach Secure Now is launching two distinct courses for the 2026-27 cycle: the Texas Artificial Intelligence Training and the Texas Cybersecurity Training. The AI-focused curriculum covers human oversight, privacy, and accountability, requiring participants to pass a 10-question assessment to earn a certificate. The cybersecurity component focuses on mitigating everyday human-centric risks, such as phishing and social engineering, requiring an 80 percent score on its final assessment.

CEO Art Gross emphasized that workforce readiness is as much a cultural challenge as a technical one. By standardizing this training, the state aims to ensure that employees who handle sensitive information can navigate new digital tools without compromising public trust. Agencies, local governments, and K-12 districts are now authorized to deploy these modules to satisfy their annual compliance obligations.
