The partnership adopts a phased ownership structure that will eventually transition Newmark into full Banyan Group control. Despite the acquisition, Newmark will retain its brand identity and existing management team, led by founder Neil Markovitz. By integrating Newmark’s regional expertise with Banyan’s global distribution network, the group aims to capitalize on Africa’s surging travel sector, which saw an 8% increase in international arrivals in 2025.
This expansion bolsters Banyan Group’s portfolio to nearly 130 properties globally. The move is strategically aligned with the group’s focus on nature-based and heritage tourism, encompassing assets like the QWABI Private Game Reserve and lodges near Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. While day-to-day operations remain under local leadership, Newmark properties will eventually be integrated into the withBanyan loyalty program, granting international guests broader access to the company’s African collections.
