Centrus Energy Secures HALEU Supply Deal with Antares Nuclear

The partnership addresses a critical bottleneck for Antares, which is currently developing power systems for high-stakes projects like the U.S. Army’s Janus Program and various Space Force initiatives. By securing a domestic source of "unobligated" HALEU—fuel free from foreign restrictions—Antares gains the ability to deploy reactors for national security applications where supply chain provenance is paramount.

Centrus CEO Amir Vexler noted that the contract signals accelerating market demand, providing the financial backing necessary to push the company's American Centrifuge Plant toward commercial-scale production. For Antares, the deal stabilizes the fuel supply chain for its upcoming 2027 power generation targets and 2028 military installation deployments. The agreement leverages Centrus’ proprietary AC100 centrifuge technology, currently the only western-world production method capable of meeting the stringent requirements for U.S. national security fuel.
