Forum Mobility Expands Heavy-Duty EV Charging Network in California

The new infrastructure spans Northern and Southern California, integrating both pull-through lanes and advanced charging hardware to minimize downtime for commercial drivers. By utilizing the Megawatt Charging System, these stations can deliver a 60% range increase in approximately 30 minutes, allowing operators to charge without detaching their chassis. Three of the sites—FM Francis in Ontario and FM Adeline and FM Coliseum in Oakland—will feature public Tesla Megacharging stations, while the FM Santa Fe depot in Rancho Dominguez will serve a fleet of over 330 Tesla Semis.

CEO Matt LeDucq noted that the favorable total cost of ownership for battery-electric Class 8 trucks continues to accelerate carrier adoption. Beyond these four sites, the company is already planning further expansion into major freight hubs including Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, and Chicago. With 25 contracted carrier customers and more than 40 megawatts of total capacity either operational or under construction, the project represents a significant shift in national freight infrastructure. Funding for the development was secured through a coalition of state and regional agencies, including the California Energy Commission and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
